Ahoy, mates! We are setting sail towards the Neverland! Magical, isn’t’ it? I know that “magic” and “brunch” are not two words that are often associated but at The Pirates and Mermaids Brunch at Mazina Restaurant, The Address Dubai Marina that’s what I’ll talk about even from the beginning. Why? Because you don’t have to worry about the kids…Magic Phil is in charge there!!! Yes, again, I know I am writing about brunch and I start with the kids entertainment but his show is absolutely amazing. The kids are having a lot of fun with all his tricks and magic moments but he’s also engaging the parents. Well, kind of forced us to dance by threatening to eliminate the children from the competition but we had such a great time. I haven’t laughed so much at a kids show in a very long time.

The families with kids have their own dedicated area and decorated accordingly. The kids have their own food selection and drinks with funny names like Crocodile Blood and Mermaid Water. I loved the star sandwiches and the pirate boat made from a watermelon full of fresh fruits. There was also a pancake decoration competition and all the kids did their best to win a pirate treasure chest. Some Tv was available but, miraculously, the kids didn’t show much interest in it. Attention! There is one more competition going on: for the best pirate costume and the best mermaid costume. The prize is dinner for two so make your kids win for you. Oh, and did I mention the huge bouncy castle? Yes, it’s there for the little ones to bounce all the energy out and build an appetite.

Now, let’s talk also about the food. That is a lot and of large variety. My favourite, as usual, was the seafood corner with everything for everyone and loved the presentation also. The salad bar is huge and the Asian food couldn’t miss. I had a chicken soup but the girls wanted a plain noodle soup so they got only the soup and noodles without anything else. There was also lentil soup available displayed separately. There is also a good selection of Indian food. The cheese counter was a bit too small for my liking but all my favorites were there. Pork is also on the menu but pay attention at the notes as you have to use separate plates, forks and knives, assigned for this section.

The selection of Arabic food is large and I really enjoyed the lamb chops. You should try also the paella that is nearby. The roasts are delicious and I loved the small portions of cottage pie. Of course, leave room for deserts. You won’t regret it. Even if I was full, I couldn’t help not to eat the tiny portions that I dared to put on my plate. Melting in my mouth, literally.
And if you want to keep the Fridays for adults-only brunches, the good new is that The Pirates And Mermaids Brunch is on Saturday!!
