An amazing place to spend the night, ladies night or any night, is Hotel Cartagena in JW Marriott Marquis. OMG, this place!
Note: we used pictures from both Ladies Night and brunch as for daylight the light was much better. The atmosphere is incredible no matter the hour.
Latino vibes at Hotel Cartagena!
A Bohemian setting spread on two floors that offer amazing 360 degrees views covering Business Bay and Burj Khalifa. It is located on floor 73 so be prepared to take two elevators to reach there. The first one will take you up to the 68th floor and then there is a dedicated one that will take you straight to the Hotel Cartagena.
The decor is overwhelming from the beginning, it’s like entering a tropical forest but you also have to pass by a bathtub. And that’s where you start taking pictures. The first floor is more like a bar/lounge area, mainly with bar tables and just a few dining tables. We always like the table in the round alcove that can host around 10 persons. From there, the view is amazing. Plus, there is a nice throne-like chair there if you need to have a Queen or a King of the night or you just pretend to be by rotation. This is also the floor where the DJ is so if you want to be closer to the music, this is where you should be.
Must-photos in the cage
The floor below is more for big tables, dinner tables, for bigger parties. “Piece de la resistance” is an enormous cage perfect for extravagant pictures of the night. We always felt that we should wait a bit into the night before getting the courage to get in the cage.
What can we say about the food? It is delicious and comes in ok portions. Not too big not too small. We tried the octopus among other specialties but we would recommend any other item on the menu.
Now, let’s talk about entertainment. As soon as you step in you feel the Latino atmosphere, better start practicing your salsa and samba steps from now! And those shows!!!! Brazilian dancers transporting you into a new world, this part of the night is the best! Pay attention at choosing your shoes carefully, ladies, the night is long and fun is guaranteed! No time to sit down, yeap, the food was getting cold but who would stop dancing?!
Works both on weekends and weekdays!
We tried Hotel Cartagena both during the week and on weekends and it was always entertaining.
Ms. Buendia’s Ladies Night is happening every Tuesday and we, ladies, are getting 30% off on prices for mains and unlimited drinks for AED 100 only.
They also offer a Saturday brunch and a Taco night every Monday.
With its inspiring and entertaining ambiance, Hotel Cartagena is a must! You will not regret going there, you will regret not knowing about this place earlier! 😅
