Le Meridian Al Aqah, where kids are busy and parents relaxed
It’s winter in Dubai but we still have the privilege of the weather allowing us to go to the sea so why not choose a beach location for our weekend staycation? One of our favourite family destinations close to Dubai is Le Meridian Al Aqah in Fujairah. We decided to take a 2 nights with half-board package and set for the weekend.
What a view! Look at those swimming pools!
The hotel is very suitable for families with children as it offers an array for activities for kids: badminton, table tennis (I was surprised they had this both indoor and outdoor), teens cinema, kids club with different supervised structured activities like cooking, t-shirt painting, aqua gym for kids etc.
All rooms have sea-view and ours was on the 7th floor so the views were just amazing. The room had a king bed and an extendable sofa which was very comfortable. The bathroom is big, with both a bathtub and shower.
We felt very well taken care of around the hotel premises so I can’t praise enough the service.
The family pool was heated and very big. We decided to spend only a little time by the pool as kids preferred to play table tennis or go to the Kids Club.
Dining at Le Meridian Al Aqah
With the Kids Club keeping the kids busy for so long time, we, the adults, were able to have some kids-free time at the Gonu restaurant on the beach. Gonu offers different seafood grill options on their menu and it was our favourite, especially in the evening, with its romantic atmosphere and setting.
The breakfast and the buffet dinner are served at Views Brasserie, a spacious restaurant with garden views that offers a good variety of different foods and has a kids corner buffet.
For lunch, we always went to Sapore, the Italian restaurant, as we felt the food there was prepared true Italian style and who doesn’t love Italian cuisine?
All kids staying at the resort received the items from the kids’ menu in all restaurants at no charge, we were pleasantly surprised.
Family activities to enjoy
This side of the sea quite always has big waves so we didn’t spend a lot of time in the water, instead, we chose to go and see what the water sports center has to offer. The boys chose to parasail as it was something they had never done before and they absolutely loved it. While they were parasailing I was enjoying my me-time on the boat.
The water sports club offers also snorkeling trips to Snoopy Island as well as scuba diving. I used to scuba dive a lot before having kids but it kind of went out of hand after that so I chose to just relax by the pool the next day.
The next day, the kids enjoyed very much the pool, as well as the kids club. Their favourite activity was the t-shirt painting. The kids club has no policy limiting the time spent there so kids were able to stay as much as they wanted, enjoying both indoor and outdoor areas.
Goodbye, but we’ll return!
We could not feel it when the 3 days flew away and it was time to pack again. Certainly, it’s a staycation to be kept on the list. We recommend it to all families especially to families with kids under 10 as they are having so many kids activities to close from as well as a tropical feeling for adults. maybe we’ll try the spa as well.
